The story of this software started in 1998. Earlier I wrote a simple version in Basic on Commodore 64 and Turbo Pascal on PC.

In 1995, I discovered Java which was still in alpha stage but was able to run your program on Windows, Mac, Unix. I decide to make it my main programming language.

In 1998, I discover the Swing API to write more advanced user interface. At the time still a separate API (now included in Java) and so is the idea to write this tool started. A multilingual dictionary that helps your learn vocabulary.

Many development during the years, multiple version for Palm OS, Windows CE, J2ME and Android. First as shareware, now as freeware.

Now more than 20 years later, I’m please to announce the release of version 6.2 of JLearnIt.

A free dictionary, questionnaire and word by word translator for English, French, Spanish, Dutch, German, Italian, Hebrew, Portuguese, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Hungarian, Russian, Latin and Czech.

What’s new: gender for 5 languages, easier to contribute, based on a new application framework.
